The Australian horticulture industry faces a range of challenges relating to water salinity, water scarcity, rising input costs, as well as lack of year-round supply of ethically sourced fruits and vegetables.

In 2009, through a joint venture with private investors, Seawater Greenhouse established Seawater Greenhouse (Australia) Pty Ltd, which will finance, develop and operate the first commercial scale Seawater Greenhouse operation near Port Augusta, South Australia.  By harnessing the Seawater Greenhouse technology, Seawater Greenhouse (Australia) Pty Ltd will create a competitive and environmentally sustainable solution for many of the issues faced by traditional open-field and existing greenhouse growers in Australia today.

After demonstrating the commercial viability of the technology in 2010, Seawater Greenhouse (Australia) Pty Ltd will collaborate with interested parties to expand at Port Augusta and also implement the technology in other areas of the country.  For more information about Seawater Greenhouse (Australia) Pty Ltd, please contact us by clicking here.
